For the second week, our team has been working in the South-West Primorye within the framework of the Far Eastern Leopard monitoring project, which is being implemented jointly with the Land of the Leopard National Park.
We should admit that despite that our employees have been working in this territory since the 2000s, but in such difficult conditions as this year, they have not yet had to work ...
The first attempt to install camera traps was made right after the 2021 New Year holidays, however, due to the "freezing rain" that took place in the entire southern Primorye in November 2020, the icy slopes of the hills turned out to be practically inaccessible and our team had to retreat. We were forced to purchase special climbing equipment - studded crampons and ice axes. And now, slowly but surely, the work has begun.
Let's wish the every success to our team and all the prosperity to leopards!
